David building kids confidence from the beginning.

My husband and I brought AQHA Rey Can Do, aka "Rey" to David's place recently. She is a 10 year old registered mare who has been turned out and used as a brood mare for the last 4 years. We acquired her as a 6 year old unbroken, unhandled mare. Our son halter broke her to lead, and worked with her for awhile to get her to where we could handle her a little. She has been turned out on our place, and has had a couple of excellent colts for us, her only job until now.

She is extremely overreactive, any pressure on her would send her into flight mode. She is herd bound in an extreme way, even putting her in a corral would send her on a nervous constant trip around the corral, only stopping to get a drink and a quick bite to eat. She is also very claustrophobic, reacting in flight mode if alone in a tight space. Luckily she is not a bad horse, and will not intentionally harm anyone. However due to her quickness, size, strength, and volitility, she could easily hurt someone. She had no boundaries, and would come over the top of you to get away if she was put under pressure. She recently proved that when she tried to bolt past me, slammed into me, tossing me into the air, and resulting in a broken wrist. While not trying to hurt anyone, in her reaction mode, she easily did.

David Gray worked with her for 3 hours. An astounding transformation for an intelligent, but uneducated horse. I can't wait to see how she changes in a few more days.
